L.S. King is an artist based in Southern Maryland. she grew up in this area, but left for a few years to explore life in West Virginia. She received a Bachelor's of fine Art with a concentration in photography from Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, WV in 1990. After college she moved to Charleston, WV and worked as a commercial photographer and co-owned an art gallery called Paradise Flats.
Returning to Maryland in 1993, she continued to pursue commercial photography. A year later, King had the opportunity to also pursue a few other loves - history and acting. She became a historical interpreter at the National Colonial farm in Accokeek, MD. In 1996, she joined the staff at the Calvert Marine Museum in Solomons, MD.
Her art work is shown regionally and is included in several collections.
