July 5, 2003

There is no fabulously romantic reason why there was no journal entry yesterday. No, I didn't take a total holiday. My hands did, though. After much struggle with more pills and a paintbrush, I lost the battle of creativity for the day. Instead, I had dinner with the International Food Society, of which dinner had been intricately planned by my date. Being artistically sensitive, John Aubrey (he is my official date these days) planned the meal based on patriotic colors. With the exception of fried chicken and the brown skin of baked potatoes...it was mostly red, white, and blue. And what we all learned...fruit flavored yogurts, bacon bits, sour cream, mushrooms, and spiced almonds don't really work well together on a baked potato or chicken either. But, you have to give John Aubrey credit for his creativity. Ah...to be seven again...

This morning I awoke with steady hands (steady for me, that is) and put my quote on the base of little bird, another Blake quote.

In seed time learn, in harvest teach, in winter enjoy.

And what with today's heat index, enjoying winter isn't a bad concept. I'm sure my poor parents would agree, as their air-conditioning stopped working. Yes, when it rains it pours, so not only send my father healing thoughts (my Superman faces Kryptonite on Monday...but this time I know he will defeat the evil cancer), but send both of them good karma. Oh...and for you who are paying attention...keep the pink thoughts coming for Garby. She's still with us...and we want to keep it that way.
